AirAsia is collaborating with specialist tea maker, Chatime to offer the world's first and only in-flight bubble tea.
The low cost carrier expects the new venture will boost its revenue for in-flight food and beverage services segment by two percent.
To date, the F&B services contributed about five percent to AirAsia's annual revenue which amounted to RM1 billion last year.
"It's a very good brand name with Chatime and also it works with Air Asia. As I mentioned earlier, we have the same mission and it's to deliver the best product at the best price to the mass comunity," said Shireen Chia, AirAsia's Regional Head Catering and In-Flight Business.
"With this partnership, the brand gets to stand firm as a market leader in the modern tea drinking cultures today and also with the partnership we are looking for more creative or possiblity to collabrate with other brands in the future," said Bryan Loo, Chatime Managing Director.
Chatime's in flight beverage will be available to 48 destinations such as Hong Kong and Bangkok.
To date, the beverage company has 65 outlets around Malaysia since its inception in 2010.
