A group of daredevil acrobats launched themselves off London's Millennium Bridge today as part of the cultural build-up to the Olympic Games.

Thirty-six artists attached to bungee ropes stunned onlookers with their performance, choreographed by New Yorker Elizabeth Streb.

The group will perform other "surprises" at famous landmarks across the city as part of the London 2012 Festival.

Artists from across the world are taking part in the 12-weeks of cultural celebrations surrounding the Olympics, which open on July 27.
