Aspiring actor and filmmaker Sage Stallone, the son of action movie star Sylvester Stallone, was found dead on Friday at his home in Hollywood.

Police found 36-year-old Stallone's body in the home while responding to a call asking authorities to check on his well-being.

Sargeant Jim Parker said the case was turned over to the county coroner's office.

The website TMZ.com reported the cause of death was an apparent overdose on pills.
