A funeral for the 6 murdered Sikh worshippers was held at the Oak Creek High School gymnasium on Friday.
Hundreds of people paid their last respects, including the U.S. Attorney General and the Governor of Wisconsin.
Mourners were expected to return later to the temple where priests would read the Sikh holy book from cover to cover in a traditional rite honouring the dead called "Akhand Path."
That process takes 48 hours.
