• 694 PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING

    The senate was today informed, that enforcement agencies have made 694 human trafficking arrests from 2008 to May 31st this year.

    Replying to Senator Dayang Madinah Tun Abang Openg, he said the government has made various efforts to combat human trafficking.

    These include amending the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 with an increased penalty of 1 million ringgit, for each offence.
