The Automated Enforcement System AES will be fully implemented nationwide from August 12, this year.
The system will be installed at 560 accident prone areas, and 265 traffic light junctions.
Datuk Abdul Rahim was speaking to reporters after launching the 'Be Seen, Stay Safe' Yamaha Balik Kampung road safety campaign at the Sungai Besi toll plaza today.
AES, which involves the use of high-technology camera, would detect traffic offenders, including those who beat the red traffic light sign and exceeded the speed limit.
This, he said, would make drivers be more courteous on the road.
60 per cent of the 6,877 fatalities recorded in road accidents last year involved motorcyclists.
Each day, an average of 18 to 19 people died in road accidents, and of this number, 11 of them are motorcyclists.
