Three foreign workers were injured in a massive explosion in Taman Cengal, Kulim early today.
The explosion has led authorities to uncover a syndicate involved in the transferring of cooking gas for domestic use into industrial gas cylinders.
According to Kulim Fire and Rescue Department Chief, Mohd. Firdaus Daud, the illegal activity took place at the building as there was no electricity supply.
Initial investigation also discovered that the building would be closed during the day, then open at night.
Authorities also discovered various sizes of gas cylinders in the building, whose owner is yet to be identified.
All those injured suffered severe burns on their bodies and have been admitted to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Setar.
