English literature will be re-introduced into the education system in a bid to enhance the command of english among students.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who is also Education Minister said the proposal was part of the blueprint of education reforms proposed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
He added the blueprint which is slated to be launched in September 11 by the premier would be displayed for public viewing to gather feedback before fine-tuning the contents before being submitted to the cabinet for approval by year end.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin said the implementation wouldl be carried out in three stages over a period of 13 years.
The government hopes to elevate the country's education system to be among the best in the world by 2025.
