A former Telekom Malaysia Berhad assistant technician pleaded not guilty at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today to accepting bribes amounting to over RM50,000 two years ago.
Mohd Ezzwan Mohd Arshad, aged 36, claimed trial after he was accused with 10 counts of accepting between RM3,165 and RM7,405 from Q-Intell Sdn Bhd operation manager Norhaizan Hassan.
He allegedly accepted the money, totalling RM53,370.50 as inducement to award a contract to install Streamyx internet line in Johor to the company.
The offence was allegedly committed at the Maybank Desa Pandan branch in Cheras between May 20 and November 9, 2010.
Judge Ahmad Zamzani Mohd Zain set bail at RM30,000 with three sureties and ordered Mohd Ezzwan to surrender his passport to the court as well as to report to the nearest police station once a month.
The court also fixed October 11 for mention.
