19 Nigerian nationals were among 35 foreigners detained during two separate raids in Selayang and Kepong early this morning.
Among their offences, not having valid travel documents and using the business permits of locals to open a restaurant.
Codenamed Awang Hitam, 56 personnel from the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Immigration department took part in the operation at Desa Aman Puri and Metro Prima.
The operation was carried out following complaints from local residents unhappy with the influx of African men who were said to frequently cause problems in the area.
All those detained, aged between 20 and 40 were held at the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department for further investigation.
Others detained included Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Uganda, and Indonesia natinals, for not carrying valid travel documents.
