Op Selamat, the improved version of Ops Sikap, has so far shown positive and encouraging results since it was first launched last Sunday.

Bukit Aman Deputy Director of Internal Security and Public Order, Datuk Salleh Mat Rasid said this was based on the downtrend observed in the statistics as compared to Ops Sikap during the same period last year.

He however reiterated that police would only issue the figures on accidents and crime after the 15-day operation ends on August 26th.

The operation themed "Safe Home, Safe Destination" focuses on not only on road safety but also public safety as well as crime prevention.
