The remand period for the husband of 31-year-old Syaleza Jaafar, the TV9 administration executive who was found dead at her home last Saturday, has been extended for five days to allow police to complete investigation.

Magistrate Mohd Nazri Omran gave the order for the suspect to remain in custody until August 9th at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court today, after the initial remand order had expired.

Police had previously assured that the probe would be completed as soon as possible.

Syaleza was found dead by her husband in the bedroom of their house in Apartmen Saujana, Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya on July 28.

However, autopsy results found strangulation marks on Syaleza's neck.

Her husband was detained in Segamat on Sunday, shortly after her funeral to help in investigation into the case which is being investigated under the Penal Code for murder.
