Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was also asked about the statement by Former Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Musa Hassan who was quoted as saying that the crime rate in the country was on the rise and that the police should reveal  the truth.

"So if now he says that it is not true what he said. To me I take it with an open heart and I would like him to come forward, give what ever ideas that he has because if there is anybody who knows what we are going through it will be him," said Datuk Seri Hishammuddin.

Last week, The Performance Management & Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) announced that the crime index in Malaysia fell by 10.1 percent in the first five months this year.

But Tan Sri Musa was quoted by a news portal that the police were only trying to hide the truth.
