23 Nigerians were among 38 people detained during an immigration department operation at Suria Kinrara, Puchong, Selangor last night.
In their determination to escape, several of them jumped into a car and even rammed into the enforcement team's four-wheel drive.
According to Selangor Immigration director, Amran Ahmad, luckily his officers were quick to block the exit road.
Most of those detained are students at several private colleges in Kuala Lumpur.
They were arrested for not having valid travel documents or had overstayed.
Also detained were Indonesia, Philippines, Pakistan and Colombia nationals.
They were taken to the Selangor Immigration Department before being sent to the KLIA detention depot.
