The KL High Court today dismissed Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik's application to recuse the trial judge in the Port Klang Free Zone, PKFZ, cheating case.

Justice Datuk Ahmadi Asnawi in his decision said, the application had no merit, as it had failed to show that there was bias in his written judgment.

He said, the comments made cannot be seen as an exaggeration, as it was based on facts and testimony, during the examination-in-chief and during cross-examination.

Datuk Ahmadi also stated, that the comments made in his 83-page judgmen,t did not affect the running of a fair trial and did not mean, that the defence cannot rebut.

He then ordered the trial to resume, on July 13.
