Several nightspot operators have moved out of the big cities and settled in small towns to set up their business and employ foreign women as GROs in a bid to avoid detection by authorities.
Their ruse however failed to fool the police after a total of 119 GROs, were arrested during three raids in Perak within 24 hours.
The raids were conducted by the Perak Police Contingent Gambling, Secret Society and Vice Division, D7.
38 foreign women were held after police stormed two entertainment outlets in Parit Buntar at 2am today while 81 women were nabbed in another raid at a premise in Manjung yesterday morning.
The women, 116 Vietnamese and three Chinese nationals were found to have abused their social visit passes while 11 of them did not possess any travel documents.
DSP Mohd Hasbullah added one of the premises was operating beyond stipulated hours while the otehr two did not have business permits.
It's also believed that some of the women, aged between 18 and 30, worked as sex slaves for prominent clients at the nighspots.
All those detained were taken to the Manjung and Kerian police district headquarters for further action.
