A 29-year-old lorry driver is facing amputation on his right leg, after it was badly crushed in an accident in Setiu, Terrenganu, early this morning.
Mazlan Omar and his attendant were on their way to Kuala Terengganu, from Alor Star, Kedah when the accident occurred at 4am.
Mazlan, was believed to have lost control of the three-tonne lorry before it skidded and overturned.
His attendant, who was asleep at the time, was thrown out of the lorry but only sustained minor injuries.
The Fire and Rescue Department team had to use a hydraulic pump to release the victim, as his leg was trapped in the wreckage.
Mazlan was rushed to the Setiu Hospital before being transferred to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu.
