Efforts in combating transborder crimes between Malaysia and China will focus on human trafficking, drug smuggling, terrorism and cybercrime.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the four crimes not only occur in both countries, but require regional and international cooperation as they involve syndicates with regional and global network.
Datuk Seri Hishammuddin spoke to reporters after receiving visiting Chinese Deputy Director-General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Internal Security, Zhang Ju Fen, at his office in Putrajaya today.
Malaysia and China signed an MoU to combat transborder crimes in Beijing last month.
It includes cooperation in law enforcement, law enforcement training, scientific research and technology transfer.
