Cameroon international midfielder Alex Song is poised to sign a 5-year contract with Barcelona on Monday.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed to sell him to the Catalan club for a fee of over 23 million U-S dollars, where he is expected to provide cover in the centre of defence.

That position has been a priority for Barcelona's new coach, Tito Vilanova, who stepped up from assistant to replace Pep Guardiola at the end of last season.

Song will take a medical, and is expected be presented, along with the rest of the Barcelona squad, in a friendly against Sampdoria at the Nou Camp later on Monday.
