National fencer Yu Peng Kean put in a swashbuckling effort after he beat Egypt's Zeid Mannad in the Men's Individual Sabre.

In their round of 64 match Peng Kean defeated Mannad 15-12 to progress to the next round.

Peng Kean however could not muster up enough energy for his next matchup an hour later against Hungary's Aron ZILAGYI losing 15-1 to a superior opponent.
