Mr. Funny Bone
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Wang Sha, Li Ching

In America, it’s Mickey Mouse. In France, it’s “Tintin”. But in Hong Kong, no comic book character is more famous or beloved than Old Master Q, otherwise known as Mr. Funny-bone. He’s a Confucius-type fellow who travels about with his sidekick, Big Potato, getting involved in all manner of charming comic mishaps …which always turn out just right. This beautifully cast, live action adaptation proved so popular that it spawned the sequel, Mr. Funnybone Strikes Again.

How To Choose A Royal Bride
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Derek Yee, Joey Wang, Wang Yu

Is it a historical, costumed kung-fu film or a gender-bending romantic comedy? You decide, but kung-fu film star, writer, and director Lu Chun-ku probably meant it as both. In either case, it’s a delightful and exciting surprise from the man who made Holy Flame Of The Martial World and Bastard Swordsman, starring a cast of both kung-fu stalwarts and incredible beauties -- all obviously having the time of their lives in this unique change of pace.

Melody Of Love
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Li Hsiu-hsien, Niu Niu, Liu Shang-chien

This social romantic satire delightfully reflects its era, as three doctors pursue three hard-to-get beauties in the “go-go-go” era of the 70’s. Danny Lee was just at the beginning of his extraordinarily diverse career when he led Liu Lu-hua and Liu Shang-chien on an ever-challenging, sometimes frustrating but always funny, pursuit of the lovely Hsiao Yao, sexy Niu Niu, and sweet Chen Szu-chia. This bright, entertaining film proves that the road to true love may not be smooth, but it is always worth traveling…and enjoying.

Gossip Street
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Top Shaw’s & HK-TVB Stars

The versatile and prolific Wang Feng both writes and directs this ensemble epic which united actors from both Shaw Brothers’ film units and their television network, HK-TVB. The place to be is flat number 8 on the second floor of the Gossip Street apartment building, where all the neighbors gather to gossip. The sitcom turns serious when a local mobster wants to change the place into a gambling den – leading to a satisfying finale where hearsayers turn into heroes to save their neighborhood.
